I have 2 separate (14 panels and 12 panels) existing Sunpower systems already installed in my house and decided to add more panels (9). I went back for the simplicity of using 1 company and I am assuming they will at least take good care of me because of my loyalty to the company. Unfortunately I was mistaken. I have nothing but positive reviews for the sales team but has a bunch of different issues with getting my system going after installation. The communication method with the project coordinator definitely needs some work. At most times you won’t get a response until after two weeks after you send them an email. It is unfortunate that it’s close to impossible to get them on the phone. It took about two months after getting our PTO to get our new system completely going. I was promised that they can combine the 12 panel and the new 9 panel system into one monitoring system. They did do that but it took almost two months of back and forth to get things going. Scheduling a technician to come out is a hit or miss. I get a text to confirm appointment dates and there will be a no show. Other times they will just show unexpectedly. I am recovering from a knee surgery and I informed them to confirm with me about a possible date and technician will just show up unannounced. Also, technicians will come out and flat out inform you that they don’t know what they need to do as they haven’t performed the task of combining two systems into one monitor. Also had an issue where our system wasn’t really working because of a faulty emergency shut off. Also, at times the project coordinator does not really understand what is going even after providing detailed explanation of what is wrong with the system. Technicians will come out thinking they need to perform a specific action unrelated to the issue at hand. I am just relieved that the last technician completely knew what he needed to do to fix all the issues we are having. It was just an overall unpleasant and frustrating experience.

The best contractor I’ve ever worked with! Clear about the process and met their milestones. Finished earlier than expected. They have excellent polite and employees and subcontractors. My questions were answered in a timely and understandable manner. Their warranties and performance make me feel secure that they will keep their promises. I recommend them highly. If only all companies were as dedicated and efficient as SunPower…. Many thanks from our family!

The panels are fine and the system works well and the support on actual product is good, HOWEVER, customer service on other issues is problematic. SunPower came out to do some work on the panels, they destroyed the bird abatement system I had just paid $1100 installing. It cost almost $600 to repair. For 4 months they have given me the run-around. Excuse after excuse. Tired of hearing " we are working on it" and requesting I keep sending the photos over and over again. I sent the photos 4 times.

They were very detailed and what was going to happen, and it was a true discussion between what I wanted, and what they were recommending. Ultimately, it was my decision, and they never tried to strong-arm me. After the purchase was made my project coordinator Brandi was wonderful. She told me step-by-step what to expect and they gave me the tools to monitor. Did take a little longer than expected, but we did have two hurricanes in there so all in all a little over three months to get everything completed. Thank you so much and I look forward to not having to pay Fpl nearly as much as I have been in the past.

I wish I could give 0 star rate reviews because this company Sunpower doesn’t deserve anything! The worst company I have ever had in my life! I am a 10-year customer of SunPower. I have fulfilled my financial monthly obligation for over 10 years. Recently I need to get my roof fixed however needed the solar panels removed so work can be started. I had informed SunPower that I needed the solar panels removed due to a roof repair and was told numerous times a work order has been done. This was a month ago. I have repeated call them and yet their answers remained the same: “They are busy and that a work order has been placed.” I had been paying monthly payments for maintenance and support for over 10 years and they willingly received and took my payments during which I assumed that they will do their part if I needed service that required their help with the solar panels. To date, I have not received any news of anyone from SunPower who could help me nor address my situation. This company has really bad customer service and has failed to meet their part of our agreement. No one from the company seems to know what’s going on, yet they will take your monthly payments with no problems. BEWARE…this company is not reputable. It is better to take your business elsewhere rather than invest your hardworking money into a company who can’t keep their obligation to their customers.

SunPower won't be the least expensive purveyor of solar systems, but I'm confident we made the best choice. Their whole process is very well-organized; communication with our point-person (Kelli) was top notch, and the installation teams were clean, well-organized and very efficient. They know what they're doing and were communicative every step of the way.
